Real Time is the listings, reviews and discussion platform of the Department of Architecture and Spatial Design, London Metropolitan University. It is edited by the history team, and written by students, tutors and staff.
Real Time is pre-viewing and reviewing mainly, but not exclusively, events at the ASD. It publishes up-to-date information on what’s new, lectures and design reviews, reports on the activities of studios and units, and event listings in and around London. There are regular reports on competitions, books, exhibitions, films, lectures and concerts. From time to time there will be guest appearances, and this year we are planning to print editions on a regular basis.
Real Time offers an opportunity to keep abreast of what’s happening at the ASD, and to take part in a lively debate when it has. It is open to all, and to any opinion. Our reviews, posts and lecture listings on the website are open to comments. And if you would like to write for Real Time, all you need to do is get in touch with the editors.

The Department is forming a choir. It is open to everyone in and outside the ASD. We will be singing classical repertoire throughout the ages, from medieval plainchant to John Cage, but there will be a strong focus on experimentation and contemporary music; we will explore the voice, body and space; and in the long-run, this might become part of a wider discussion about the relationship of music, performance and architecture. The ASD choir is led by Cathy Heller Jones. Join us for a first open session on Monday 3 November, 6.30pm. Location to be confirmed - watch out for posters.
