Intercultural Interaction: Book Launch
Thursday 3 November 2011, 6:30pm, Forum
‘Intercultural Interaction’ is a guide to the scope and variety of work within a number of architectural institutions that engages with diverse cultures and contexts. This work asks students to bridge between their responsibilities as caring citizens and emergent professionals.
As such, the publication is an argument for schools of architecture to engage with the society they are a part of and that they serve, and to support students in building upon their personal values to shape their career and the future of architecture practice.
Intercultural Interactions is a theme that began within SCHOSA (The Standing Conference of Heads of Schools of Architecture) whilst Robert Mull was chair between 2008 and 2010. The theme and this publication were then developed with the support of CEBE (The Centre for Education in the Built Environment) and the ASD Projects office at London Met.
The book is launched at the same time as a lecture and exhibition opening for ‘Capturing Urban Conflict’, by the author of Chapter 5, Wendy Pullan:
