Public City / Private Room is an exhibition of recent projects and selected work by Stephen Taylor Architects from 2003 to the present. The projects in this exhibition range in scale from that of a mixed use building in Shoreditch, London to a piece of city in Worcester. At both scales of house and city, themes of intimacy and proximity are explored in the making of places for human habitation. Balancing privacy with community projects embrace the social possibilities of streets, passages and courtyards and consider threshold conditions between their public and private environments.
